Anet A8 Z-Axis Lead Screw Bearing Block

Anet A8 Z-Axis Lead Screw Bearing Block

thingiverse

The Z-Axis bearing block is specifically designed to utilize a standard 608ZZ skate board/roller skate bearing. Its inner diameter measures 8mm, matching the outer diameter of the A8 lead screw. The A8's Z-Axis lead screw remains unsupported and tends to wander during rapid movements, leading to subpar print quality and X-axis shifts. This bearing block is crafted to slide over the linear bearing support, maintaining precise spacing. It also features an indexing end that fits snugly into the lead screw installation holes on both printer sides. The result is a "fixed" bearing end for the lead screws. This mod/upgrade is straightforward to print and install, offering significant improvements in print quality and resolution for the Anet A8. To implement it, simply remove the top corner supports by unscrewing two fasteners per support, press the bearing into the block, slide the bearing over the linear rail and onto the lead screw, reattach the corner supports, and you're done. Happy printing!
