I was searching for a straightforward method to stabilize the top of the Z-axis lead screw. After examining numerous Things, I discovered one that closely matched what I needed. This is a remix of http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2069196 The original design covered the lead screw and guide rod but required the original plate for the guide rod. I redesigned the new plate to have the same thickness as the original factory plate, made the depth of the hole for the lead screw flush with the bottom of the plate, and flattened the inside end so it doesn't protrude over the frame top plate. Print Settings Printer: Anet A8 Rafts: No Supports: No Infill: 100% Notes: I changed to 100% infill for better support of the mounting screw. How I Designed This I imported the original STL into SketchUp, made the adjustments I described and exported a new STL. Then, I imported my new STL into Simplify3D for slicing.
