Anet A8 Y-Belt Clip (6mm spacing w/ 1.38mm thick belt)
thingiverse
I crafted this design from scratch using Freecad, incorporating full and proper GT2 belt geometry. Indeed, here we have a genuine three-radius tooth design, not some hastily assembled polygon approximation. You'll feel the luxury the first time you insert a belt. I conducted test prints and tweak iterations to achieve the perfect thickness in ABS for a snug fit on my 1.38mm thick GT2 belts (the drawing is tuned at 1.78mm to account for tolerances of my printer... any smaller and the fit feels too tight). I designed the top counter-bores slightly deeper so the shells for the screw head and belt are touching. This means you have to loosen those two bolts before inserting a belt (it won't fit if they're pretightened). Then, after the belt ends are inserted, tightening the top bolts will clamp down on the belt. The 20x12mm bolt pattern fits my newer Anet A8 y-carriage (circa January 2018). Be aware that depending on how you initially assembled your y carriage, this may not fit without some reassembly work... the attached file is for 6mm carriage spacing (6.5mm actually, since I'm OCD and that fits my A8 better). If you're unfamiliar with this setup, the picture shows my carriage where the 'cross bar' is mounted under the bearing bars (this is "6mm spacing"). If your crossbar is top-mounted, this won't fit. Again, the attached version is for common 1.38mm thick reprap FG reinforced belts; if folks ask, I can upload versions for other GT2 belt thicknesses. Please don't ask because I won't upload a version with 10mm carriage spacing. The 6mm spacing carriage setup is IMHO preferable due to the smaller offset of forces (= less deformation from torque). Uploading a 10mm version would serve to perpetuate this common error.
