Anet A8 Y-Axis Cable Chain
thingiverse
I decided to create a new frame mount design as the original one didn't match up properly with my frame (A8's production run had undergone several changes). I started from scratch by designing a chain link and building it upwards. Initially, cabling was routed too high into the bed, restricting my print area - especially on the 3DTouch side. To free up more space for wiring, I removed the plug body and wrapped individual wires with heat-shrink material to secure contacts. The original bed-thermistor connection at the plug had been replaced by a 2-pin Dupont connector due to intermittent contact issues causing Marlin to terminate prints prematurely. This new setup has also been routed under the cable chain for better organization.
