Anet A8 X Axis Redux
thingiverse
Update 15/07/18: A stronger belt idler holder has been uploaded. After almost six months of use, my PLA one finally gave up. The new design is expected to last much longer. A redesigned X axis for the Anet A8 has been created. The nut recesses for the brass M3 bolts are intended for nylock M3 nuts. Due to the motor being on the front, a Z endstop cannot be used with this design. A bed levelling sensor will need to be employed instead. Features: * A front-mounted stepper motor provides better weight distribution *** Firmware changes or wiring changes may be required *** * An integrated X belt tensioner is included * An optional camera mount for Logitech c270 is available Stock LM8LUU bearings are used - 2pcs LM8LUU - 45mm Long Linear Bearing - 8mm shaft can be purchased on Amazon UK. Printing: All parts were printed using PLA at 25% cubic infill and 0.2mm layer height with Cura. Supports 'Everywhere' at 10% lines required for both sides but minimal supports are needed when printing in the provided orientation.
