I bought a couple of these recently (in the "20T ID3 OD18 W6" variety, though in hindsight maybe the "16T ID3 OD13 W6" variety may have been more appropriate) to replace the pairs of bearings the A8 uses as belt idlers: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/GT2-Idler-Timing-Pulley-16-20-Teeth-Passive-Synchronous-Wheel-Bore-3mm-5mm-Aluminum-Timing-Pulley/32817701071.html?spm=a2g0s.9042311.0.0.75d04c4dKwhA35 I put one on the Y-axis tensioner (https://www.thingiverse.com/make:520391) easily enough, but the stock right-side X-axis mount is too narrow. This should be easy enough to fix in OpenSCAD, right? It was throwing errors at me...must not have liked something in the original STL file. I went looking into STL repair options. MakePrintable was at the top of DuckDuckGo's search results, so I gave them the original file, let their systems go to work on it, and downloaded the result. It's a fair bit larger than the original, but at least OpenSCAD isn't complaining now when I shave off a half-millimeter on each side of where the idler will go. I've printed the right-side mount, the part I needed to remix. The holes for the X-axis rods need to be drilled out with an 8-mm bit. (Standard sizes won't cut it...5/16" is too small and 21/64" is too large. Hunt down a metric drill-bit set; I found one through eBay for not too much.) The original, unaltered left-side mount is also included for completeness. Category: 3D Printer Parts
