Anet A8 X axis mount with Cable Chain mounty
thingiverse
This is still a work in progress, be cautious. I've just installed some Frame stabilizers (model #2074478). The cable output from this is slightly too far to the right and causing a bit of a snag between it and the stabilizer. To continue working, I'll need to tweak it a bit to the left. I may redesign entirely, that's still to be determined. I've been struggling with my x-axis cable chain for some time now. Every viable solution I've found so far pulls the hotend cables out of the main board every time Z moves above a certain point. So, I'm giving this one a shot where I've combined a cable chain end into the top of the left X mount that msvml submitted and I'll give it a try to see how well it works. I added in a couple of tree type mounts as well since I can't print this one upside down. They stay put and help, but I've uploaded models with and without them. I'm aware that where the chain is running, I lose a little bit of Z height. So far, I've not had a need to print that high. When my need gets there, I'll re-evaluate exactly how I want the chain to run. The pictures of the piece I printed were an early version. The model has been improved to make the chain end housing lower into the X end and a piece got in the way of the stepper motor. These issues have been fixed in the current model.
