Anet A8 X-Axis Extruder Carriage
thingiverse
If you have an older Anet A8, you might need the original Diggitydank carriage because the X end stop is lower. I really appreciated the design of it, but the foot meant to hit the X-stop was too low for newer Anet designs, and on the non-cable-chain model, there was nothing to hook or tie the cable chain to for strain relief. My fiberglass-reinforced belts were slipping out of the teeth when I tried to tighten them up. This carriage is both lighter and has fewer parts than the stock Anet carriage. I also had constant issues with getting the screws just right on the bearing housings. This one has the housings built in, so there's no manual alignment needed; just slap your linear bearings in and go. This actually raises the extruder by 20mm, so your build area goes from 240mm to 260mm, but you'll likely need to change your Z-stop because the stock one won't get you low enough. Most alternative ones are iffy, so I included LittleMrJ's version because it doesn't need an additional foot on a screw hanging down. The fan nozzle didn't work for me; I don't like the ones that insert, and I need one that clips on. So I took the Spriya and modified it to fit on its own, and also with a version that can screw onto the fan for extra support.
