Please check out the update of this design under: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4031050. A fast and compact solution for tightening the X-Axis belt is now available. This remix of Luke_O's design was created after reading comments discussing breakages that occurred after some periods of use with his original design. To strengthen the part, I modified it so that the slide can be printed in an upright position without supports. The shaft that the belt wraps around has been made slightly larger and the base on which it is fixed thicker. While this makes it a bit more difficult to wrap the belt around the shaft, it is still possible. Luke_O's original design was a simple and compact solution for tightening the X-Axis belt, and I'm grateful for his contribution. It's always great to find something that is easy to use and useful, especially when it can be used with standard parts of the Anet A8 printer. Notes: 1. To make the parts as strong as possible, print them exactly as shown in the STL pictures. 2. I used normal Philips bolts, which are easy to reach with a screwdriver. 3. When attaching the belt, ensure that the "head" of the zip tie is facing the extruder (see picture). If it's not, it may come into contact with the rest of the printer. TIP: After tightening the belt, home the X-axis and tip the lower part of the belt. Use an app to measure the frequency of the tone; if it's 80 Hz, the tension is correct. This is also a great way to test the belt periodically and see if re-tightening is necessary.
