Anet A8 - Upgraded Stock Z-Probe mount
thingiverse
I scoured every option for Z-Probe mounts, only to find nothing that rivaled the Anet's standard mount in terms of solidity. I decided to take matters into my own hands and create something myself. This custom design holds the probe in a nearly identical position as the OEM - directly behind the X carriage. Strategically placed supports extend from the mount surface all the way back to the carriage itself, ensuring that even when tightening the two screws, the acrylic remains intact. The design perfectly tucks away between the bearings and timing belt for a snug fit. The only deviation from original hardware is a single large piece of acrylic. My top concern has always been the possibility of nozzle collision with the bed during probing. With the probe positioned in front of the axis, it gets pushed further away from the bed. By keeping the probe behind the bed, however, I ensure that it gets pushed down towards the bed instead, eliminating this potential issue.
