Anet A8 Universal Toolhead Mount / QuickSwap
thingiverse
A universal mounting system I designed specifically for my Anet A8 printer can also be used on similar printers with identical mounting mechanisms. It allows users to switch between various toolheads in a matter of seconds. Currently, I have installed a stock Anet extruder and a Proxxon milling tool for creating PCBs, both of which work seamlessly with the system. The toolheads fit snugly into their respective holders, producing exceptional print quality while also providing ample strength for PCB milling tasks. The mounting process is relatively straightforward: users simply need to attach 62x82mm base plates measuring 3mm in thickness to all toolheads. These plates can be customized with mounts for bowden extruders, laser cutters, CNC spindles, and other devices. However, any components attached to the rear plates must maintain a minimum clearance of 3mm on both sides. To facilitate this process, I have included an STL file for a router holder; users are also encouraged to design their own custom toolheads. Once my laser cutter arrives, I will upload additional designs. One minor modification is required for the stock Anet A8 extruder to fit properly. Users need to carefully cut out 3x3mm grooves as illustrated in the accompanying image. Printer Settings: * Printer: Anet A8 * Rafts: No * Supports: Yes * Resolution: 0.2 * Infill: 20% * Notes: To ensure proper fitment, print the mounting system standing upright as depicted in the provided image, with supports for the belt holders. Printing the system in any other position may result in altered dimensions and compromised toolhead compatibility.
