I've got a Bowden setup on my Anet A8, and I'm using the standard spool holder off to one side of my printer. But I wasn't happy with how twisted and messy the filament line looked as it was pulled up to the extruder - it was a real eyesore. And to make matters worse, this twist caused the spool to rock back and forth on the holder, which may or may not have put an inconsistent load on the filament line. So I decided to take action and solve this problem once and for all. To start with, I simply remade the middle arm of the stock spool holder to fit a PC4-M6 tub fitting. That was a quick and easy fix, but it wasn't the only thing I needed to do. I also drilled and tapped the spring arm on the extruder to fit a PC4-M6 fitting - and you can adapt this solution in any way that works for your specific Bowden setup. After all, there are plenty of different solutions out there for the bowden extruder motor.
