Anet A8 (stock) extruder cables strain relief
thingiverse
Cable strain reliefs abound, here's my take: An easy install cable strain relief for the stock extruder of the Anet A8 (2017) is what I'm sharing. The goal is to keep the heating element and thermistor inside the aluminum block even if the grub screw comes loose. This way, the risk of a fire caused by a loose and overheating element is reduced significantly. It installs with 2 very small zip-ties, 2mm wide. Tighten well, and cut the remainder tip closely (see pictures). Check for a snug fit carefully. PLEASE NOTE - Modifying a 3D printer is not recommended and may cause injury or damage. Use only if you understand what you are doing. No responsibility accepted, use at your own risk. Sorry for the legalese, but extruders are serious stuff, very hot, and if messed with may cause a fire or injuries. Absolutely true.
