ANET A8 SpoolHolder
thingiverse
I started out by modifying the spoolholder from Madjestik58 on June 13, 2016. However, I had concerns about the weight on top of the display wobbling around, which affected print quality. The original spoolholder took up a lot of space behind the printer and needed to be carried separately, so I came up with this design to mount it tightly to the back. My contribution consists only of the two blue parts (LeftArm, RightArm), printed in PLA, while the rest of the complete spoolholder comes from Madjestik58. The white pieces are printed with PETG and have better properties compared to PLA. In general, I prefer printing in PETG and experience no difficulties whatsoever. The 3D design was created using DesignSpark Mechanical, and related files, including STL files, are attached. I print with both PLA and PETG at 235 degrees Celsius. I use Cura 2.6 in draft mode with a layer thickness of 0.2mm, wall thickness of 1.5mm, and an InFill Density of 25%. Although I'm not the most skilled designer or printer, I thought this modification might be helpful, so enjoy it and provide feedback if you like it – thanks!
