Anet A8 spool holder for ball bearings
thingiverse
This is a straightforward Anet A8 filament spool holder.\r\nI designed this using Freecad, and I'm providing the files for you to modify as you see fit.\r\nModifying a freecad project is surprisingly easy.\r\n\r\nTo assemble it, you'll need:\r\n1x M5 screw at least 28 mm long\r\n2x M3 screws at least 30 mm long\r\n2x M3 nuts and some washers\r\n2x M5 nuts\r\n2x ball bearings with an outer diameter of 16mm, an inner diameter of 5mm, and a thickness of 5 mm\r\n1x piece of sponge\r\nsome glue\r\nsome thread lock paste (similar to Locktite)\r\n\r\nTo put it together, use your imagination.\r\nDon't overtighten the M5 screw through the bearings, or they might bind.\r\nUse some thread lock paste to keep things in place.\r\nAdd a piece of sponge at the bottom of the leaning part of the stand for extra friction to prevent the spool from unwinding too easily.\r\n\r\nHere's how it looks and works:\r\nhttps://youtu.be/aORfcdLLutY\r\n\r\nUnfortunately, my first print failed, so the spool holder in the pictures and video is shorter than intended. It still functions well, though.
