It's a heated discussion: fix it to a firm surface, or set it up on a soft material. I envision anchoring it to a flat surface means you won't need to level the bed often while setting it on a soft surface makes it run more quietly. I don't have a flat surface I care to drill into, so the debate is settled for me: rubber pads. These pads take 3mm thick standard o-rings (like what you put in your garden hose). Luckily, I had a bag of them lying around. You can get them at Walmart, Home Depot, Amazon (these seem like they would do the trick), or any hardware store. This design consists of four versions, each meant to press fit on different parts of the frame: Version A - Fits to thick parts of the frame, such as the front of the bed. Version B - Fits to thinner parts of the frame, such as the Y motor mounts. Version C - Fits to two intersecting thick parts of the frame, such as where the back meets the sides. Version D - Fits to two intersecting thick parts of the frame, but leaves a quadrant empty in case you have something mounted there. In my case, I have the Anet A8 Dual Mosfet & Motherboard Case with Reset Button, which takes up space in the lower left quadrant. Printer Settings Printer: Anet A8 Rafts: No Supports: Yes Resolution: .16 Infill: 20% Notes: I used line supports at 10%. Kept the bottom nice and flat and they were left behind on the print bed when removing the parts. Post-Printing Simply place the washer into the bottom. You should have ~1mm of the washer sticking out from the bottom.
