Anet A8 right side brace/stiffener
thingiverse
Note this works well on my Anet A8 from 2016, but be sure new versions and clones are compatible before printing. This right side stiffener makes the frame more rigid using present holes and slots in the acrylic. I use hex/Allen key screws to fixate it; these are sunken in the part so they don't interfere with the x-axis mount. Remove two existing screws first before fitting the part. BOM: 2 * Allen key M3 x 18 for far right screws 2 * Allen key M3 x 20 for replacing existing 2 * Allen key M3 x 30 for mounting to vertical part Few washers Print Settings: Printer: Anet A8 Rafts: No Supports: Yes Resolution: 0.25 Infill: 25% Notes: Orange PLA @ 200 degC, 50degC aluminium heatbed with 3D-LAC (directly printed on heatbed with 215 degC/60degC), 6 mm brim (260% first layer extrusion [SLic3r]), no raft, no supports, 0.25 layer thickness, 25% infill (honeycomb) and 1 mm thick walls (4 layers). Print scale 1.0. Post-Printing: The right corner stiffener is effective, but the top of the printer still shows some flexibility due to the brace's attachment point being too low. Ideally, it should be attached higher, such as to the top plate. The printer bed is insufficient for printing parts of this length; I plan to modify my printer by adding an acrylic plate to cover the full height, replacing the current second Z-axis motor back plate in a later stage.
