I tweaked the original design slightly, eliminated the slot for the cable by routing the wires straight into the PSU directly through the metal case and attaching them to the vacant 12V header. Furthermore, I added a basic fan grille to prevent medium-sized objects (such as cat paws and my fingers) from coming into contact with the blades.
