Anet A8/Prusa i3 - Z-Axis Alignment Tool

thingiverse

This is an alignment tool specifically designed for Prusa i3 style printers, primarily used after the Z-axis has been subjected to pressure, such as when changing filament. This often leads to misalignment of the Z-axis when the stepper motors are not driven, which can be particularly problematic in printers that utilize trapezoidal thread rods with a steep slope, like the Anet A8. To rectify this issue without having to relevel the bed or rely on an autolevel sensor, I use these alignment tools after every filament change. To print two of them, one for each side, follow these steps: 1. Initiate Auto-Home Axis 2. Disable Steppers via the menu settings 3. Rotate both Z-axis rods manually until the tool fits underneath them 4. Continue rotating each rod until they sit on top of the tool with a light touch 5. Remove the tool and proceed with printing
