Anet A8 / Prusa i3 12mm Smooth rod Upgrade
thingiverse
Hey Folks, I designed and built a massive overhaul of my CTC Prusa i3 with metal extrusions, resulting in a gigantic version of an Anet AM8 with a 500x500x300mm print bed. After some time, I realized the 8mm smooth rods were too small and wobbly, causing severe ghosting issues in larger prints. So, I decided to upgrade the 8mm rods to 12mm rods. Here are all the parts I designed and rebuilt to fit the 12mm rods and bigger bearings into an existing printer. Now, the whole thing works much stiffer, and the ghosting has mostly disappeared. In addition, the 12mm setup is more suitable for upgrading an engraving kit. Visit my Twitter account for more exciting projects I'm working on. https://twitter.com/3_newbie
