Anet A8 Power Supply 80mm Fan Case with HEX holes
thingiverse
I designed and printed several fan holders for 80mm fans to enhance the Anet A8 power supply's functionality. After experimenting with four different designs and refining them further, I settled on a design created by Alexan9er on Thingiverse that effectively secures the fan using zip ties on the power supply's mesh. To attach this holder securely, I removed two screws from the power supply cover and attached it to the mesh through the back. Since I had 80mm fans available, I scaled down the design to accommodate them and used computer fan screws to fasten the fans to the housing. I also modified the design to incorporate HEX holes, matching my existing printed items. With a fan in place, the heat sink noticeably decreased in temperature, suggesting that the power supply is less prone to overheating. For those interested, I've shared a compatible power supply cover on Thingiverse at thing:2276593. Print Settings: Supports: Doesn't Matter Resolution: 0.2 Infill: 20+ Notes: This design should be printed in HEX mesh orientation for optimal results, and printing it on glass may produce a more attractive finish.
