Anet A8 Power Supply 40mm Fan Case
thingiverse
I designed a casing to fit a 40mm fan that sits on the power supply of my Anet A8 printer, especially when room temperatures rise in the summer and the power supply gets hot. This little fan case brings the temperature down to a safe level. I positioned it so you can place it anywhere on the outside power supply grid. I advise against placing the fan at the top right corner because it will cause heat to spread onto the PCB and warm up the components. Instead, put the fan in the middle so that cold air hits the PCB, flows along the heat sinks, and escapes through the grid (see picture for guidance). I'm using a 40mm fan to match the size with other parts I've designed, like my extruder fan. This way, only one type of spare fan is needed. I connected the fan to the 12V output on the power supply. Please check out the pictures for more details. If you made one, post a picture of your setup too. Thanks, Leo. 01.01.2017 - Attention: It's been pointed out that Anet might have changed their power supply type, so make sure to check the dimensions (see picture) before printing!
