Anet A8 Plus Cable Chain Optimised

Anet A8 Plus Cable Chain Optimised

thingiverse

This is a completely new design, optimising the cable chain concept. All bracketry is new and applicable to the Anet A8 Plus. Features Include: 1. Lightened and miniaturised chain links, 1.4g vs 2.4g for the old style commonly found. 2. Cable installation on the fly - cut out channel on links and brackets for easy installation without removal of plugs or connectors. 3. Use minimal amount of fixture and use clips where possible. 4. No support or raft needed. 5. Futureproof for addition of Z-axis chain. 6. Integrated cable tie slots in some components (where necessary.) 7. Underside Y axis cable routing meaning no rear moving chain behind the machine. You will require 35 links for the X-Chain and 22 for the Y (+/-1 link). You will need to print 2 of the 0013 Linkage B parts. Print all parts 0.2mm layer height. If you have a good fan duct use 15-40% Fan. If you have a rubbish fan duct use 60=80% fan speed. There are angled overhangs and the round holes in the linkages benefit from cooling to remain neat. If your printer is still struggling to produce neat hole cheat by using a 6.2mm or 1/4in drill bit to tidy holes. ****DO NOT PRINT ANY LESS THAN 4 LINKAGES AT ONCE*** - The thin section around the hole needs a bit of time to cool before the next layer goes down and you will end up with un-neat holes. Some of your cables will need extended. The extra part 0016 Extruder brace is optional and it is to keep the extruder and bracket square, solid during movement and reduces bounce. This is very important as the current metal extruder bracket is very thin and flexy. If you use this you will need to replace the M3 screws with ones that are 5mm longer. Part 0015 will require 2 screws that are 5mm longer. This part DOES NOT TOUCH the motor underneath. There is 1.5mm clearance, to avoid heat warping. Part 0017 requires no mounting screws. If you intend to use the Z chain in the future that I am still designing then melt an M3 insert into the small hole. Part 0011 only needs screwed to the outside of the frame. However if you want extra security the holes are available to secure to the underside of the frame also. Part 0013 has a small dimple to clip over the bracket. You may find depending on your print quality it is too tight or loose. Sand/file or superglue on to suit your setup. Part 0014 must be printed on it's side. This is because there are clips on the underside of it that clip to the bed subframe. Good luck, and may the force be with you.
