Anet A8 / MK3 Extruder
thingiverse
Why? I'm running this on my machine and it was a massive upgrade in print quality over the stock Anet extruder. The bondtech gears are totally awesome, making print quality significantly better. The Noctua fan is amazing, what a difference in noise levels - I can barely tell the printer is on when idle. The Anet A8 X carriage rail spacing is 1mm larger than the Prusa I3 Mk3. These files adapt the Prusa design to work with the new spacing, leaving the rest of the extruder parts unchanged and fully compatible in terms of hole spacing etc. Unfortunately, I don't know SCAD well enough to make modifications to the source, so these STL files have been edited directly. Stock Prusa Files: Download at [Prusa github](https://github.com/prusa3d/Original-Prusa-i3/tree/MK3/Printed-Parts/stl) You need: - extruder-body.stl - extruder-cover.stl - extruder-idler-plug.stl (only if using an optical filament sensor) - extruder-idler.stl - filament-sensor-cover.stl - nozzle-fan-45deg.stl - cable-holder.stl Modified Files: **nozzle-fan-45deg-support-anet.stl** - The Anet extruder motor has a connector that protrudes and interferes with the 45-degree fan support of the Prusa design. To clear this, the mounting flanges have been made taller by a few mm's. **x-carriage-anet.stl** - I added 1mm of spacing between the bearing holders to accommodate the different rail spacing of the Anet. **x-carriage-anet-more-belt-clearance.stl** - I added 1mm of spacing between the bearing holders to accommodate the different rail spacing of the Anet. - I also added .5mm of clearance for the belt, which was a bit too tight for my setup. You may not need this if your belt is different. **x-carriage-back-anet.stl** - I added 1mm of spacing between the bearing holders to accommodate the different rail spacing of the Anet.
