ANET A8 improved X-Axis modification
thingiverse
Hello Anet A8 printer users! I created this upgrade specifically for the Anet because its X-axis was the weakest axis due to excessive play and imperfections on standard 8mm steel rods. This upgrade eliminates all play on the X-axis and provides a more effective way to mount your extruder carriage. I designed this carriage to fit the E3D lite and, possibly, the normal E3D as well (I have yet to test it). ##To use this modification, you will need some additional parts: - MGN12 rail 35cm in length and one slider. You can find them on eBay, Banggood, or local suppliers. I purchased 40cm and shortened both ends using a Dremel tool so my holes aligned perfectly. - 4020 Aluminium extrusion profile 40cm long. - M3 hex bolts to secure the MGN12 to the 4020 extrusion: M3x6. I used seven bolts in total. - Print or purchase M3-sized T-slot nuts, available at https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2164617, to fit your MGN or buy real T-slot nuts. - GT2 belt - I bought one meter and cut it to the desired length. Optional: - GT2 pulley with ball bearings, as the original ANET rollers can sometimes be off-center. (Still a work in progress!)
