ANET A8 Improved Stock Sensor Mount
thingiverse
As I installed my Anet stock sensor onto my Anet A8, I realized that the acrylic plate was deforming significantly since the screws were tightened between the two X-Axis rails where there was nothing for the plate to support itself against. The issue with that setup is that I only had the option of either allowing the sensor to move freely, which compromised accuracy, or letting the plate deform severely, also compromising accuracy, as the sensor does not directly face down onto the aluminum build-plate. Unfortunately, I over-tightened the screws once and the acrylic plate cracked apart. Following that mishap, I decided to design my own custom plate to securely hold the sensor. The new plate features an extension that reaches all the way up to the extruder mount, allowing the screws to be tightened without deforming or cracking the plate. Additionally, this single-part design eliminates the possibility of having two separate parts that can become loose if not tightly secured together. I hope my experience helps some of you!
