Anet A8 I3 X-Axis Cable Chain Mounts

This is a custom upgrade of the HICTOP Prusa i3 Cable Chain mounts. After installing it on the x-axis, I discovered that the cable chain would scrape against the left x-axis threaded rod whenever the carriage moved to the left. This friction caused the carriage to vibrate and distort my prints. My solution is to design new offset mounts positioned about a centimeter back on both the carriage and the motor. The clearance created by these offset mounts works perfectly for the Anet A8, resulting in smooth operation. Note: I designed the carriage mount vertically in OpenSCAD, but you should rotate it 90 degrees, then use supports when printing it. Print Settings Printer Brand: Printer: Rafts: Supports: No Resolution: 0.1 Layer Height Infill: 25% Lines Post-Installation To install the x-axis motor mount, an M2 screw at least 20mm long is required. For the carriage mount, remove two screws from the top of the carriage that are next to each other. Then, secure the carriage mount in position using the two holes in the carriage and bearing. You might need longer screws for this installation. To create a cable chain of sufficient length, print at least 30 links between the mounts.
