Anet A8 Horizontal Filament Holder

Needed a compact solution to hold filament being fed to the printer without adding excessive height or vibration. Existing solutions were unsatisfactory due to their elevated profiles and tendency to wobble. While this design still induces some wobbling, it appears less pronounced than other options currently available, and with added reinforcement and braces, seems manageable. This spool holder is intended for placement on the right side of the printer, but can be mirrored before printing and installed on the left side if preferred. The design is specifically tailored to fit the Anet A8 model and prioritizes simplicity while maintaining robustness. I utilized the rod and nuts supplied with the printer as the foundation for this spool holder. In addition to the basic spool holder, two fittings are included to facilitate smooth filament rotation on the bar by minimizing friction. The hole that accommodates the bar runs uninterrupted through its length, allowing for potential extension in height to support multiple rolls of filament. Bolts are used to secure the bar in place, as depicted in the accompanying images. It is also recommended to install a filament guide on the opposite side of the printer to prevent accidental unwinding of the filament from its roll.
