Anet A8 giant spool holder
thingiverse
Here is a large spool holder for the Anet A8 that can accommodate up to four filament spools. It's loosely inspired by https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1624641 but designed from scratch before realizing its SCAD was available, my mistake. I used Madjestik58 holder for quite some time and loved it, but two things bothered me: lack of lateral stability, which tends to lean on one side or the other, and having to screw/unscrew stuff every time I want to change a spool, true for most holders, actually using it in combo with https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1888486. In this design: * Supports are much larger and slide under Anet top frame on the back for greater stability * Rod is simply laid on supports, no nut required * Adapter for 52 mm diameter shaft spool slides into spools, no nut required * It can accommodate up to four 54 mm wide spools It requires a 242 mm long rod with a 2 mm tolerance; real distance is 244 mm and diameter is 8 mm. Design is not completely parametric but you can reduce the thickness (h) and the rod receptacle depth (h3) to fit a slightly longer rod. Adapters are 110 mm long so two of them need to be printed, as one single 220 mm piece is too high for printing on A8. Update: New design tagged V2 is available for adapters, more parametric and with STLs of diameters 52mm and 71mm, to accommodate these types of spools.
