Anet A8 firmware/Melzi board
thingiverse
Here we have some reportedly good firmware for the Anet A8 using a Melzi board. I don't own an Anet A8 nor would I ever buy one, therefore I have no actual means of testing this firmware, USE AT YOUR OWN RISK! It has been reported that this firmware will correct an issue with layers being immediately repeated, one on top of the other, without movement of the Z-axis in a vertical direction. This was said of the configuration.H file accompanying this upload: "But you need to change the X and Y lengths from (General section) to 220 and change X min position and Y min position to fit your own need. (-32,-7) worked perfectly for me since I'm using a Bowden extruder." The user named Jacky_joe is to thank for this information. I'm not 100% sure about changing the position of the nozzle to less than (0,0,0), This doesn't quite sound right to me, but it's said to work. I personally don't advocate the use of Anet A8's nor the purchase thereof. There are other kits that come with better boards. Anything including an MKS gen board is preferable, to me at least.
