Anet A8 Fire Extinguishing Project
thingiverse
Earlier in the year, I had a fire on one of my Anet A8 printers while printing ABS. The smoke detector went off and I was able to put the fire out however this caused me to search for a method to prevent fires as well as extinguish a fire if it starts. I placed a .25Amp fuse in line with the fan and light circuits of the printer to help prevent any open arcs which could ignite the fumes while printing ABS. I also found an inexpensive fire extinguishing device that should (not tested yet) extinguish a fire if it occurs on the printer. This device is called Fire Ball and is available from Amazon for around $30. The included files and photos show how I mounted the Fire Ball and the parts I used.
