Anet A8 extruderfan upgrade
thingiverse
I first used a fan modification from hadoko (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2290361), but the hook that held it close broke soon and I knew there had to be a more robust solution available. So I designed this fan modification myself, including two chambers for neodym magnets to hold the door with the extruder fan and its heatsink closed tightly. The magnets used are round ones with 12mm diameter and 2mm thickness. If you have different magnets, search in the freecadfile for two boxes called "magnetraum" to find what works best for your setup. The heatsink on my machine has two different kinds of screws holding it in place. The upper screws are countersunk from the inside, while the lower ones are simply screwed into the cooling fins - see the rightmost picture. I'm not sure if both kinds of screws came with the printer, so you might need to find another way to attach your heatsink to its fan. It is correct that there's only one .stl file, because this thing can be printed in one step, making it a cool design.
