I created this modification because loading the filament onto my A8 printer has been a real hassle. To simplify the process, I've added a small piece of Teflon tube to the lever. The heat break is positioned so that it's perfectly aligned with the chamfer, as you can see in the attached photo. It's not ideal, but it's definitely an improvement over the original setup. To print, simply turn the printer upside down. When inserting new filament, press the button just enough to allow the filament to slide smoothly between the roller and gear. Unfortunately, the current design makes it impossible to use Repetier's change filament feature, as it causes the filament to be pulled too quickly, resulting in deformation on the roller and a poor fit for the upper hole. Version 2 of this modification addresses some key issues with the original design by tightening gaps and tolerances. Both Version 1 and Version 2 work seamlessly with flexible filament.
