I chose to utilize a Raspberry Pi Zero (W) as I already had one on hand and it is significantly cheaper and more compact than the standard Pi. Additionally, since I didn't require a relay at that point, I incorporated mounting points for a small DC 12V to 5V USB converter, which I had lying around from a previous car project, to power the PI directly from the printer's PSU. The constant need to unplug my bedside lamp and phone charger every time I wanted to print something was becoming increasingly frustrating due to the lack of a spare power strip. A quick tidy of the cables is necessary, but I'm currently printing a cable chain to address this issue.
