Anet A8 Electronics Case Mosfet Remix (Octopi, Mosfet + Mainboard)
thingiverse
I love the original design by c_wolsey but wanted a mosfet instead of the relay so I decided to modify the design to suit. It's a tight fit, but everything seems to fit in well enough within the original case dimensions. Another person made a similar design with a mosfet mount, but the case is larger and won't fit on the frame as nicely as this one does. Things I modified include: I raised the Pi closer to the cover to make room for the mosfet underneath. I reinforced and increased the radius of the standoffs because I read that people were having problems with the strength of the original standoffs. I redid all of the standoffs and screw holes, changed the top a bit by moving the hole for the wiring to the other side, added a small hole in the bottom to run wires through, and got rid of the slot for the ribbon cable. I don't plan on using one anytime soon, but when I do, I can just snip out a little piece of the vent holes. There are a couple of little issues I've noticed after printing that I'll probably address in the design if anyone is interested in printing this. The holes in the standoffs for screws are a bit small (2mm diameter), so I plan on drilling them out a bit or finding smaller screws for mine. The mosfet edge supports are a bit tight, so I had to trim a little off after printing to get it to fit down into place. The support for the Pi on the corner directly under the ethernet port was in the way of one of the contacts for the port, but I just trimmed a bit off with a knife and it clears fine now. The contact wasn't there on the 3D model of the Pi that I used to modify this case. Print Settings: Printer: Anet A8 Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 0.2 Infill: 100% I designed this, and it's my first post here. I have basically no experience working with 3D programs like SketchUp, in fact this was my very first attempt at using the program. But I thought I'd share it because it might help someone else out.
