I didn't find an E3D V6 mount that met my needs, so I combined several from Thingiverse and elsewhere, creating this custom setup. Some components are fabricated in-house, while others were sourced externally. I installed it on one of my Anet A8 printers and it performs significantly better than the other two machines I own. I will upload images of prints and the printer configuration shortly. I've used M3 bolts and nuts, including M3x10, M3x12, M3x20, M3x25, and M3x30 sizes. The extruder is a modified version of the original E3D V6 with a full steel setup and Skynet firmware. Please note that this setup is experimental and may require adjustments to suit your specific printer. It works exceptionally well for printing PETG and PC filament. Additionally, you will need to calibrate your Z offset. The X and Y offsets are set as close to the original factory settings as possible; both the nozzle and autolevel sensor can reach most of the build plate. The backplate, which holds everything in place, has some issues. I use Repetier Host, which has a repair feature that fixes the holes for screws securing it to the bearing blocks on the X axis. I'm also working on an updated version of this holder, a motor mount for direct drive, as this setup is designed for bowden configurations with the stepper mounted above one tower. Once tested and verified, I will upload this update. On January 1, 2018, I added a new version of the E3D V6 holder, tailored specifically for the short version of this extruder. This revised design eliminates adjustments, making it significantly stronger than its predecessor. The backplate has also been reinforced and thickened without altering the X and Y offsets. To print successfully with this setup, use a slicer that supports splitting objects into separate parts before printing and flipping the smaller component.
