Check out my upgraded AM8 Dual Bowden, the ultimate upgrade for your Anet A8 3D printer. This is an enhanced version of NVBigBlues' (8SquareFeets) innovative dual bowden conversion design. Parts needed to bring this upgrade to life: Ramps 1.4 kit - a crucial component that sets the stage for this upgrade Ramps fan extender, available here, allows precise control over your print fan's performance Nema 17 stepper motor - the heart of any successful upgrade, delivering precision and power MK8 extruder - you may want to consider purchasing two, each with handles and M6 holes for convenient pneumatic connector installation 2x Pnumatic connectors PC4-M6 - these should come with your J-heads; if not, be sure to acquire them separately 4x lm8uu linear bearings - you can salvage old 3 from the original X carriage or source new ones 2x v6 J-Heads - essential for any dual bowden setup, providing superior performance and reliability 18mm inductive sensor - I highly recommend using this one; it works seamlessly with a 5v power supply 1.5+ meters of 2mm/4mm PTFE tubing - the perfect material for creating smooth, efficient airflow 16x 1.5mm or 8x 2.5mm zip-ties - these will help you secure your setup in place 4x 4.5mm zip-ties - additional support for a rock-solid installation 4x M4 x 25mm allen bolts & nuts, 4x M3 x 15mm allen bolts & nuts, and 3x M3 x 18mm allen bolts & nuts - these fasteners will keep everything securely in place To bring this upgrade to life, you'll need to print a ramps mount similar to this design. This mount also features a Raspberry Pi Zero holder for added convenience. I've made several key improvements to the original design: Added an 18mm induction sensor mount for auto bed levelling - this replaces the back plate and ensures precise calibration Introduced height adjuster rings - these allow you to fine-tune the position of your J-heads, perfect for those with slightly shorter components like my own J-heads (which were 1mm shorter than the design) Modified the rear part of the j-head/hot-end mount to accommodate different screw lengths Updated the X carriage and auto level mount to centre the belt between the rods - a crucial adjustment for optimal performance Added a belt fixed back plate with/without auto level mount - providing flexibility and convenience Future improvements on the horizon include: A better print cooling duct design, similar to this concept Lowering the position of the Y motor mount for improved stability Maybe even adjusting the Y belt tensioner's position for added precision
