Anet A8 Carbon Fiber Print Surface Mod

I'm tired of building surfaces that need constant changes, but are stuck so incredibly hard to the bed that a jackhammer is needed to remove them. And what's up with that glue they use on it? It takes way too long to scrub off. No more hassle! I needed something easy to remove and clean. I've seen magnets embedded in print surfaces before, but even those need to be stuck to the bed with adhesive anyway. Got me thinking that magnets were the way to go, but in a different way. Yes, the magnets on the carbon fiber do protrude up 3mm. But think about it, have you ever printed something in the corners of your bed? The four 3D-printed parts for each corner serve the purpose of retaining the carbon plate together with the magnets to hold the plate steady when the bed is moving back and forth rapidly. And at the same time, I designed some better bed adjustment screws. The carbon fiber print surface is only 0.4mm thick. And the surface is very smooth, so you'll need to use a glue stick for adhesion. And when it's time to free the print, just remove the carbon plate and flex it slightly to pop off the print. Easy to clean too - just put it in the sink and run hot water to wash off the glue stick residue. The cheap china M3 nuts and bolts that came with the printer are not magnetic, so you'll need to source some yourself. And I suggest drilling out all holes on the 3D-printed parts with a 3.2mm drill to allow the M3 bolts to spin freely. Get a precise finish with sanding. Repeat on other two edges and corners.
