Anet A8 Bowden Mount HEFTY
thingiverse
I adore the DocWho11 version for the Bowden extruder. Its compact design, light weight, and support for a chain make it ideal for my needs. However, I encountered an issue with printing that left me frustrated. The duct was too thin, resulting in gaps where air escaped before reaching its destination. Moreover, the fan cover broke when I tried to insert the first link of the chain. For the blower I used, the upper left bolt aligned perfectly; however, there was no matching lower right bolt available. Since my chain applies stress at this point, I wanted a bolt for added support. To address these issues, I extended the carriage slightly to accommodate a lower right blower bolt. I also doubled the duct's internal thickness while maintaining its outer dimensions, ensuring it would still fit properly. Additionally, I strengthened the chain mount by making it thicker and more resistant to breakage. The end clamp remains identical to the original design and is included here for completeness. This is Starwhooper's chain that I use, and I'm confident it will fit this version (it may also work with other designs): https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1905344 To achieve maximum sturdiness, I printed this at 100% infill density, resulting in a super sturdy final product.
