ANET A8 | Belt Pulley Insert (Customizable)
thingiverse
Based on poor_red_neck's brilliant idea and the parametric pulley library from droftarts, I developed a highly customizable belt pulley insert featuring adjustable belt retainers. I made significant modifications to droftarts' pulley library to seamlessly adapt it to the ANET A8 bearing. A huge thank you is owed to those two creative geniuses for their contributions! The primary motivation behind creating this innovative solution was that existing versions lacked belt retainers or had retainers that were excessively tight, obstructing the belt's smooth operation. Using the customizer, users can now generate a version without retainers or support! So, why should you incorporate a pulley insert into your bearing? The teeth of the stock ANET A8 version ride directly on the plain surface of the bearing, which can cause vibrations in the y- and x-axis motion. Let's take a closer look at some CUSTOMIZER configurations: Default (Pulley T Ht = 6.5, Retainer Ht = 1.5, Notch Depth = 1) [AVAILABLE IN DOWNLOADS SECTION]: • Wider than stock standalone bearing (about 1.5mm) • Left ample space for belt (6mm wide) • Retainers are more robust, with a support of 0.5mm before the notch begins Slim (Pulley T Ht = 6, Retainer Ht = 1.1, Notch Depth = 1): • Just minimally wider than stock standalone bearing (about 0.2mm) • No tolerance for belt (6mm wide) -> May put excessive stress on retainers • Retainers are fragile, with only a 0.1mm support before the notch starts Your incredible config here! You think you've discovered an awesome configuration? Share it in the comments and I may feature your creation here! Print Settings: Printer: ANET A8 Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 0.12 Notes: Print at a slow pace for high precision (e.g., 30-40mm/s) Post-print: • Remove support on one side of the pulley (e.g., with a knife) • Do not tighten the screw holding the bearing too much; keep it loose to allow frictionless rotation.
