Finding a solution to level the bed on my Anet A8, I created two simple tools to assist in this process. The first tool consists of two pillars that can be placed beneath the Z Carriage, helping to align the Z frame and ensuring it remains level without the need for frequent measurements. These pillars are designed to be easily inserted and removed as needed. However, it is essential to remember not to leave them in place when the printer is powered on, as this could potentially cause damage if the Z axis is driven down towards the stop. The second tool I created is a hook that holds a budget 150mm digital caliper (£3) securely in place. To attach the caliper to the bracket, two diagonally opposite screws were removed from underneath a label, and then refitted with the bracket. It's possible you may need to source longer screws, but I managed to get away with using the original length. With this setup, it is now easy to level the bed by taking readings from different parts of the bed and ensuring they are all the same. The hook is attached to the top rail, making sure it is fully down.
