Anet A8 based aluminium framed 3d printer
thingiverse
I was fed up with constantly calibrating my trusty old Anet every time I moved or sneezed on it. I know there are many upgrades available, and this is just another one, but I wanted to design something as simple yet effective as possible. Since migrating it into a sturdy aluminum structure, my prints have become a lot more consistent and refined. Whether you want to build it or not is up to you, but if you do, please share your pictures and any upgrades you make along the way. For me, this project was a fun challenge that required some thought and patience, but I think it was worth the effort. The X-Y axis has gained 60mm in each direction using standard round bar guides from acrylic printer kits. Flashing the Anet V1.0 board with the Marlin Configuration tool allowed me to add the Anet Full Graphics display and easily modify the bed X-Y-Z dimensions. I'm not an expert in graphic design or firmware, so please keep your questions basic. If you need any help or have questions, leave a message in the comments - I check them at least once or twice a week. Don't hesitate to ask if you need anything modified to suit your needs.
