Anet A8 Back spool holder - Save space!

thingiverse

This spool holder enables you to stack a LACK table on top of your 3D printer, provided it has adequate feet. The design utilizes only the stock M8 threaded rod supplied for the spool holder. Additional M3 screws and bolts can be used to secure the threaded rod in place (optional). The design is not flawless as the arms slightly rotate due to the weight of the spool, but once installed, it functions perfectly. To print this spool holder, you will need to create the 2 arms and the threaded rod that holds the spool. Installing axial stops makes life easier when installing a new spool. Spool brakes are designed to provide friction to the spool and limit unwanted unrolling; however, they may not work for your setup. To print this design, every piece has a flat side that should rest on the heated bed. The default orientation in the STL files is incorrect. This spool holder works great with Quick Change Universal Spool Holder: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1241566 and Anet A8 Prusa i3 Simple filament guide (Horizontal): https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1764285. Note that printing this design reduces the printing height to 200 mm, which is a design choice to reduce the overall height. This reduction in height does not significantly impact my printing needs, and I can easily switch to another spool holder if needed.
