This is an electronics enclosure designed specifically for the AM8 - Metal Frame for Anet A8 mod found on Thingiverse. The modification requires mounting the x-axis motor from the front, which necessitates inverting the motor's operation. For Marlin or Skynet users, this can be achieved by changing INVERT_X_DIR to true. Those utilizing stock firmware may need to reverse the wire order for the connector; however, I recommend updating your firmware if you haven't already. This case is designed with a fan in mind and should not be used without one. ## Printed Parts ### Frame The Anet mainboard mounts at the back of the frame. Two variants are included: one supports an 80mm fan and the other supports a 90mm fan. 8/15/2017 - The frame variants now include mounts for a RAMPS v1.4 board. Initial versions may be removed in the future as this version still contains Anet board mounts. ### Right The right panel features two mosfet mounts. A cutout at the bottom center of the right panel allows for wiring from the left z motor, z stop switch, z motor, z stop switch, and lcd to pass through. ### Left The left panel has a raspberry pi mount. I power my pi using an LM 2596 connected to the 5v and ground GPIO pins from the 12v power supply. A cutout at the bottom center of the left panel enables wiring from the power supply, y motor, and y stop switch to pass through. ### Front The front panel features mounts for a 4-channel relay and a LM 2596 with voltage display. Two variants are available: one is blank and the other has AM8 centered at the bottom. ### Top This is just the cover for the case. The round hole allows wiring from the bed and hotend to pass through. 8/15/2017 - A top with holes for RAMPs power connectors was added. ## Purchased Parts ### Mosfets: http://www.ebay.com/itm/3D-Printer-Heated-Bed-Power-Module-High-Current-210A-MOSFET-upgrade-RAMPS-1-4-/122028782943 ### Adjustable DC-DC LM 2596 Converter http://www.ebay.com/itm/Adjustable-DC-DC-LM-2596-Converter-Buck-Step-Down-Regulator-Power-Module-LW-SZUS/232372936877?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649 ### 4 Channel Relay http://www.ebay.com/itm/SainSmart-4-Channel-Relay-Module-New-/381276443034?epid=1101510610&hash=item58c5d8d19a:g:cW0AAOSwPcVV1zt5 ### Fan I've used old PC case fans, with two variants of the frame supporting either an 80mm or a 90mm fan. Initially, I attempted to use an 80mm fan but found it too noisy; instead, I adapted the design to accommodate a 90mm fan. ### Screws 4 M4x16mm screws and nuts for attaching the fan to the frame, 2 M3x16mm screws for the rear screw holes on the top panel (longer screws are needed here as they attach the top and sides to the frame), 10 M3x12mm screws for all other panel mounting screws.
