Anet A8 Adjustable 40mm Fan
myminifactory
Over the past weekend, I found myself consistently disassembling and reassembling my extruder feed area multiple times due to persistent jams. After doing this approximately three to four times, I realized it was time to design a solution that would allow me to quickly and easily move the 40mm fan out of the way while still enabling internal cooling via the fan. I devised a simple yet effective design that enables the fan to pivot into position when access is needed to the internals. This innovative approach allows for quick visibility when feeding new filament, identifying jams, and troubleshooting problems more efficiently. The file "Fan_adjustment_part1" contains the design for the fan mount, which accommodates standard screws and nuts in its open areas. In addition, "Fan_adjustment_part2" is a separate component that attaches to the larger back fan used for cooling the print as it deploys from the extruder nozzle. Currently, this attachment uses a single screw fit, but I plan to revise and enhance the design to incorporate both fans without compromising air intake. If you have any questions or suggestions regarding this design, please don't hesitate to reach out. Tips are always appreciated, and I'll be sure to update this project as I continue designing new parts.
