Essential Upgrades for Anet A8 ========================= This collection gathers the best 'essential upgrades' for the Anet A8 printer, saving you time and effort in choosing the most effective ones. I recommend printing these items first and installing them as soon as possible. You will need M6 threaded rod, nuts, and washers to install the Y axis motor mount. Print Settings: PLA 230°C 100% infill 100-200mm/min Supports: yes Other Recommendations: - Install a 20mm compression gland in the rear panel of the printer frame to secure cables to the hot bed. I had to adapt the motor mount using a burr grinder to allow clearance for the nut securing this cable gland. - When applying spiral wrap to cables for the hot bed and print head, include a piece of PLA filament to stiffen the bundle and prevent tight kinks from forming. This keeps cables clear of moving parts. The linear guide rail grips reduce vibration significantly. The Y axis belt grips, motor mount, and belt tensioning upgrade enable good belt tension on the Y axis with minimal deviation over its entire travel. The X axis tensioning upgrade is a massive improvement over "two bendy bolts" and cable ties. Properly tensed belts give huge resolution improvements and reduce print artefacts from sudden changes in print direction. Bed levelling is easy with thumb wheels, which are absolutely essential.
