Anet A8 40mm fan part cooler
thingiverse
I made a mount for an axial 40mm fan to replace the original fan's noises. The duct can be printed without supports if turned upright on its "feet," brim recommended for stability. A small but powerful fan is ideal, I added stator vanes to improve static pressure, and versions are available for m3 and m4 fan bolts with both counter-clockwise and clockwise stator vanes. My printer must be precisely tuned since parts need to friction-fit together seamlessly. I printed the mount with a 0.2mm layer height and 20% grid infill density. 2020-05-21 - Revision 1: Although it's a bit rattly, the mount works remarkably well, requiring less fan speed for the same bridging result as the classic semi-circular version with the stock blower. I created a reinforced version of the mount to eliminate the rattles without significantly increasing mass (rev1 parts). The Sunon EE40101S1-1000U-999 fan was used in this design.
