Anet A8 2017 version X cable chain with fine tune adjustment
thingiverse
I completely rebuilt this design from the ground up. I even redesigned the chain links in Fusion 360. Since the chain links were remade, they print cleaner, snap together seamlessly, and connect to the mounts flawlessly. Do not mix other chain links with this use my design. The X motor is elevated so the chain doesn't get in the way of the filament or extruder knob. I made sure it clears the tower so it won't reduce build area height. This X mount fully covers the x motor mount for the Anet A8 2017 version. Also added an access hole for installing the fine adjustment screw. I made sure the chain tracks perfectly and stays in alignment with the x mount and extruder mount which was a problem for using other versions. You should be able to use the original screws to mount the X mount. I chose M3x25 with an M3 nut on the back for a spacer. I think I needed more screw bite since my motor threads started to wear out a little from constant removal during prototyping. Fine tune adjustment screw uses M3x18-25 whatever fits your setup. I'm using an M3x25 and could have gone shorter. When mounting the endstop to the holder, I drilled two 2mm holes to accept 3mm screws since I have more of them lying around. I've included a short distance adjustment knob; you may want to print both and use whatever fits better. They're quick prints. Supports are needed when printing the X mount and end-stop mount because of the obvious overhangs. Print 28 x chain links. Print as shown in the thumbs. --edit Added an X mount version with zip tie holes. -- Added chain link v2 with a tighter fit. --- Added chain link 2.1; v2 had corrupted STL
