The spool holder is specifically designed for the Anet A6 printer only. It is mounted by inserting it between the display and frame from above as a replacement for the distance sleeves, and then screwing it back in with the original screws. Compared to the previous version, there is an extra adjustable bracket as a guide for the filament and to prevent the filament from jumping aside the spool. The bracket can be mounted horizontally for normal parts and vertically adjusted for especially high parts. It is recommended to attach a felt strip to the bracket, which serves as a light brake. This way, the spool cannot roll itself off due to possible imbalance. The spool holder is intended to hold the spool centrally. To do this, it still needs a centering axis for different spool sizes. This is important because otherwise the bracket will not work properly. In addition, larger spools can only be taken in with centering, as they would otherwise risk sliding on the frame. A centered spool holder is also very important for high-quality printing. If the spool is not centered, the print head may sometimes strongly tug at the spool, which can lead to layer shifts and other effects. The centering axis for spool reception is optional and only recommended for printing when the printer is already well calibrated. Misalignments or poor prints can prevent the centering parts from screwing onto the axis easily. In addition, 2 x 8mm, 6mm, 19mm industrial ball bearings are also needed. There are however some other good examples of centering spools on Thingiverse. Print Settings Printer: Anet A6 Rafts: Doesn't Matter Supports: Yes Resolution: 0.1mm Infill: 25% Notes: It is essential to use a well-heated bed, as there is a strong risk of warp at this size during printing. It should also not be neglected to dispense with the support structures for the overhangs, as the parts are very precisely constructed. This also requires a well-calibrated printer. As in the original, the distance between the arms is 100mm. With this, you can also take a front fork from a bicycle and convert it into a spool holder:>. I will still design a universal spool holder for the original 8mm axis with ball bearings.
