This is a case for the mainboard on the Anet A6. There are two versions available: the original case V1, which is smaller and only fits the stock A6 mainboard (as shown in white), and V2, a newer case that's larger and can mount the stock mainboard or an Arduino ATmega2560 with a RAMPS shield (as shown in Bronze) plus other components. They contain all the wires within the case and make the electronics overall far neater and more protected. There are plenty of cooling holes to prevent overheating of the board. I have also included .STEP files of blank versions of the mainboard covers if you want to make custom holes for cooling fans. V1. It mounts onto the frame using the same bolts which hold the main-board, with spacers incorporated into the case. The wires are fed through a gap in the top of the case, including the X axis wires. The cover is held onto the case using two M3 x 18 bolts (there are many spares with the printer kit) which screw into two M3 nuts held in the case. The cover also fits into the existing slots in the printer frame which the standard cover fits into. The USB and SD slot at the top of the main-board fit into holes in the top of the case, making inserting the SD card much easier. No supports are required for the V1 parts. V2. This is a taller and thicker case and so can hold more components such as mosfets inside. It is 200mm long and 116mm wide which just fits onto my Buildtack sheet when printing it on the Anet A6. There are six holes for mounting the case to the printer frame using shorter M3x18 screws and M3 nuts which come spare with the kit. The cover mounts to the case using four M3x18 (or longer) screws and M3 nuts captured in the case and is also secured to the printer frame using the same two screws which hold the stock acrylic cover in place. The cover also incorporates a hole for the X axis motor wires to pass through. It can mount the stock A6 mainboard (using the tall standoff holes) and incorporates USB and SD holes in the top just like the V1 case. It can also mount the Arduino and RAMPS combination using the shorter standoffs as shown in the images. Included is a .STEP file of a blank adapter plate which you can modify to mount your own components e.g. external mosfets. The adapter plate then mounts inside the case using three M3 screws. I have also included a small adapter to install a buck converter (I use it to run my TMC 2130s at 24V). No supports are required for the 'Mainboard case V2' but some are required for 'Mainboard cover V2'. Since this is quite a big print, I have made a part to test the positions of the SD reader and USB port (on the stock Anet board) match up with the top of the case. The length of the test part should just reach the slots in the frame as well when positioned correctly. Print Settings Printer: Anet A6 Rafts: No Supports: No Notes: Use 4 loops with a 0.4 diameter nozzle to make sure the walls are solid. It's ideal if your printer is reasonably well trammed (all the axis are exactly at right angles to each other) to make sure the walls of the case print straight. In my case, the walls lean to one side leading to a slight misalignment which you can see in the picture.
